Testimony From Justin Piotti
After High School I went straight into the Airforce to further education in the computer field. Little did i know after enlisting i would become a MP (Military Police) which has nothing to do with computers. I enjoyed it for the first year. But after while I guess I kinda got board with the whole thing so I thought I would spice it up by drinking a little here and a little there. I drink off duty and off base and make sure I had 8hrs of sleep to let the alcohol out of my system before going on duty. That lasted maybe 2 weeks. Next thing i know I drinkin from friday to 2 am monday. Going to work hungover. Next came the private partys. Thats where I was introduced to weed. Now I be drinkin and getting high. No need to get any further detailed cause it was long until i got discharged from the military.
After getting out of the military and coming back to pa things just got worse. I started working for a company called coast to coast where i was introduced to crack which became my drug of choice. My life became pritty much nothing but chasing the next high. After about 2 years of this constant rat race I ended up in Jail. I got out on supervised bail only because my gram was there to take me in. I wanted to stop using but I didnt know how or where to turn. Finally my gram called the NA hotline and found a meeting were i could talk about my drug problem and people actually understood what i was talking about. Every meeting the would say "keep coming back" i didnt know why but once thing i did noticed is i stop using. So I started going to these meetings everyday for like 1 and a half.
Heres where it gets good. Along with going to these meetings i started going to church at Pleasent Valley Assembly of God. I went to church here before but I "Played Church" then getting out what i put in.. Nothing. Things were a little different now.. I actually paid attention to what the pastor was talking about. I gotta be honest I fell asleep during some of the sermons. Anyways I continued going to PVAG not knowing what God had instore for me. I remember one sunday during worship, the person running the screens was really slackin. They were like a verse behind. Finally I kinda got annoyed by this and wispered to my gram, I can do better then that, pointing at the screens. She replied "why dont you then" So I did. That service I walk up to Pastor Troy, our music and media pastor, and told him I wanted to get involved in running the screens and stuff. He said no problem well have you shadow somebody for a computer. Next thing I know I am in the video booth every chance I get. Having a background in computers learning the screens was a breeze. So I moved on to the Lights. Then the soundboard. I finnaly found my nitch. I am 24 now and its been 2 years since I used any drugs. I am no where near perfect, I struggle from time to time. But all and all life is Great. I found something better than any other high. Jesus, my savior. He's the only high I need and I don't have to worry about running out of him. I still go to meetings from time to time but the majority of my time is spent at PVAG doing whatever I can to Advanced the Kingdom.
Thank You PVAG
Most of all THANK GOD
