Music Ministry Policies

Excellence in ministry is vital for effective ministry. 1 Timothy 3:13 says, "Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus."

Our desire is to see everyone to be involved in ministry. Below are the requirements to be involved in the music ministry here at Pleasant Valley Assembly of God.

Policies

1. SALVATION

As a member of this ministry team, it is essential for spiritual growth and effectiveness that you are a Christian. That is to have a professing belief in Jesus Christ and a follower of his teachings as set forth in Romans 3:10, 3:23, 5:12, 6:23, 5:8, and 10:9-13. If you are unclear about this requirement, please contact the Music Pastor for further clarification.

2. COMMITTMENT

As a member of this ministry team, you must demonstrate an ability to be committed to God, the Church, and the specific ministry you desire to be involved in. The expectations of commitment are defined below:

2a. To God – As indicated in Section 1, you must have a commitment to God to be actively involved in a ministry leadership position.

2b. To the Church – Prior to being involved in a specific ministry, you are expected to demonstrate a commitment to the church for a period of at least 6 months. After which you will be eligible for specific ministry involvement, but are still expected to demonstrate a commitment to the church. Exceptions for 6 months attendance are on an individual basis, but should be uncommon.

2c. Specific Ministry – Your commitment time period is for a minimum of 6 months. After which you may decide to continue to be involved in the desired area or step down. After each 6 month period, an individual’s involvement will be evaluated for future ministry involvement. See the specific area you desire to be involved in to view the expectations for that ministry.

3. TEAMWORK

As a member of this ministry team, you must exhibit an ability to work with other members of your team as well as submit to the authority of the ministry leader. It is important that all members of the team have an open and teachable attitude. Developing teamwork in ministry is essential for growth and effectiveness

4. CHARACTER

Our personal life affects our public ministry. Godly character is necessary to be involved in the leadership ministries of PVAG. For an explanation on how our personal life affects the ministry effectiveness of our team, please see the music Pastor

5. TERMINATION

Understanding the policies and expectations of this ministry is vital to be part of the music and media ministry. The purpose of the music and media ministry is to utilize our gifts and abilities for ministry to PVAG and our community. If any of the areas above are not observed, a conversation of your calling and purpose will be initiated and a warning given. After which, if action of misconduct continues, termination will follow
